Cypress Semiconductor's PSoC ® 64 security microcontrollers are designed to give Internet of Things (IoT) designers confidence in the security of their applications. The PSoC 64 security MCU integrates powerful standards-based system-layer security software with hardware-layer capabilities in the ultra-low-power PSoC 6 architecture. The PSoC 64 security MCU devices offer isolated Root of Trust with true proof and configuration services. In addition, the product line includes devices that provide pre-configured secure execution environments, system software for various IoT platforms, TLS authentication, secure storage, and secure firmware management. The MCU also includes a large number of execution environments for developing applications, as well as an embedded RTOS (real-time operating system) for the Cypress ModusToolbox ™ suite that manages communication with the secure execution environment.

The Arm ® Cortex ®-M Core PSoC 64 Security MCU is Level 1 certified and meets the PSA Certified ™, the Arm Platform Security Architecture (PSA) certification program, leveraging the Secure Trusted Firmware-M (TF-M) implementation project integrated into the Arm Mbed ™ OS open source embedded operating system. With a combination of Arm PSA's overall threat model, security analysis, and hardware and firmware architecture specifications, designers can use the PSoC 64 security MCU with confidence in security applications. This product line is ideal for cloud-connected products that require protection of user data and reliable firmware updates, including personal healthcare devices, medical and chronic disease management devices, and home security solutions.

PSoC 64 Secure MCU Portfolio

Depending on the target application, there are three models of PSoC 64 MCUs:

PSoC 64 Secure Boot for applications that require a pre-configured device trusted root
PSoC 64 standard for secure cloud connectivity out of the box
The PSoC 64 Premium features the standard model, but the Cortex-M0 + core allows developers to add their own trusted applications.

Cypress Semiconductor provides not only hardware-based security implemented in firmware, but also an IoT platform that includes RTOS, Wi-Fi ®, Bluetooth ® (Classic/BLE/Mesh), MQTT, TLS, a cloud application broker, a data collection broker, and more, all available from the Cypress ModusToolbox software environment.
