In such environments, traditional quartz OCXOs are susceptible to interference from environmental stressors such as vibration, temperature changes, and shocks, which in turn reduce network performance, reduce uptime, and even affect the experience of mission-critical services such as ADAS and precision positioning. Therefore, when laying out quartz OCXOs, designers must stay away from stressors such as airflow and heat sources, or even use specialized metal or plastic covers for thermal isolation, but this increases wiring and manufacturing production complexity and leads to potential signal integrity issues. In addition, designers have also tried to use specialized plastic-sealed OCXO covers for thermal isolation, but this increases the manufacturing steps and production complexity.
The introduction of the MEMS OCXO thermostatic crystal oscillator on the SiTime Emerald platform eliminates these problems. The SiT5711 is the industry's smallest Stratum 3E OCXO thermostatic crystal oscillator with frequency stability of ± 5 ppb and a frequency slope of 50 ppt/° C (Delta F/Delta T). The SIT5711 utilizes SiTime's unique DualMEMS ™ and TurboCompensation ™ temperature sensing technology, which provides the most stable timing in the presence of environmental stress factors such as airflow, temperature disturbances, vibration, shock and electromagnetic interference (EMI).
